Sad news : Prof. Phillip Ein-Dor
Posted: November 18, 2022
Prof. Phillip Ein-Dor, the founder of ILAIS and the first ILAIS President, passed away last weekend, quietly, as he lived his immensely impactful life. Phillip will be remembered for his modesty and kindness, alongside his intellectual contributions that have impacted the information systems field profoundly.
Moreover, a driving force in the Israeli and international information systems communities in Israel and globally, Prof. Philip Ein-Dor was a founding member of both the Association for Information Systems (AIS), serving as the eighth AIS president, and the Israel Association for Information Systems (ILAIS), serving as its chair for over a decade. He co-founded both the Communications of AIS (CAIS) journal and the Journal of AIS (JAIS), serving as its founding editor as well as on the editorial or advisory boards of many other journals, and has inspired and guided numerous graduate students and researchers in the IS field.
Phillip, awarded the AIS LEO Lifetime Exceptional Achievement and AIS Fellowship and was a close mentor and dear friend to so many of us. ILAIS established (and operated since 2021) the Ein-Dor Student Prize for Information Systems Research on the name of dear Phillip.
May his soul rest in peace.
