Congratulations to our fellow ILAIS members on their achievements announced during ICIS 2013 in Milan, Italy:

  • One of this year’s five winners of the AIS Best Information Systems Publications Award is a paper co-authored by Gili Korman Golander and Prof. Noam Tractinsky from the Department of Information Systems Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Ilanit Kabessa-Cohen from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.  The paper, “Trends in Website Design,” appeared in AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, Volume 4, Issue 3, 169-189. The paper is based on Gili’s M.Sc. thesis, which also established a first-of-its-kind archive of web design trends (http://hci.ise.bgu.ac.il/trends/).
  • The Best ICIS Conference Paper Runner-Up has been coauthored by Alisa Wecshler and Adir Even from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, together with Ahuva Weiss-Meilik from the Sourasky Medical Center. The paper, “A Model for Setting Optimal Data Acquisition Policy and its Application with Clinical Data”, deals with development of an analytical tool for determining the optimal data-collection policy and assessments of its utility in a medical decision making environment. • The paper “The Planning Fallacy as an Explanation for Over-Requirement in Software Development”, co-authored by Ofira Shmueli, Prof. Nava Pliskin and Dr. Lior Fink from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, received the Best Paper Award at the International Research Workshop on Information Technology Project Management (IRWITPM) which preceded ICIS.
